Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. Extends Expiry Date of Warrants

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 29, 2005) - Canadian Spirit Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:SPI) ("CSRI" or the "Company") announces that it has extended the expiry date on 750,000 warrants from September 15, 2005 to January 15, 2006. The exercise price of $3.75 per share and all other terms of the warrants remain unchanged. Each warrant entitles the holder to acquire one additional share of the Company. Conditional acceptance of this extension has been granted by the TSX Venture Exchange.

This extension will enable CSRI to complete and announce the results of the evaluation and production testing program in the Farrell Creek area in northeast British Columbia before the warrants expire. The Farrell Creek program includes the staged stimulation and production testing of the Gething formation coals and interbedded sands and the stimulation and production testing of the Bluesky tight gas sand formation.

Cores from the shale test well spud on August 8, 2005 are being desorbed and analyzed together with other technical data from the well. Any decision with regard to this potential resource will take at least three to six months.

CSRI is a natural resources company focusing on the exploration and development of opportunities in the unconventional gas sector of the energy industry (including natural gas from coal "NGC", also referred to as coalbed methane or "CBM", shale gas and tight gas sands).

"Phil Geiger"
