Canadian Sub-Surface Energy Services Acquires Wireline Assets

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - April 15, 2008) - Canadian Sub-Surface Energy Services Corp. ("CanSub" or the "Company") (TSX:CSE) is pleased to announce that it has entered into an agreement to acquire an asset package from Peak Energy Services Trust for $6.5 million. The assets consist of five electric line wireline units (valued at approximately $4.0 million), two picker trucks and high-end specialty tools. This new equipment will compliment CanSub's existing electric line fleet and will enable the Company to better serve its clients in core areas of western Canada where increased activity levels in the current and upcoming years are anticipated. Upon closing of this transaction, the Company's operating cased-hole wireline fleet will increase to 50 units (28 electric line and 22 slickline) making CanSub one of the largest, independent cased-hole wireline service providers in Canada. In addition to the wireline units, CanSub has 10 swabbing units and 61 production testing packages.

The purchase of this asset package is scheduled to close on May 2, 2008. The Company plans to finance up to $3.85 million of the acquisition price through the proceeds of a recently announced private placement, with the remainder to be financed through the Company's credit facilities.

"The new electric line units and related specialty tools, combined with recent additions of highly experienced operations and sales personnel, will allow us to continue growing our most profitable service line" commented Brad Gabel, CanSub's CEO. "This equipment will initially be added to several of our operating hubs in northern Alberta and northeastern British Columbia where we currently see our best opportunities".

CanSub is a Calgary-based oilfield services company operating from field locations throughout the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin. The Company provides cased-hole wireline, production testing, well optimization and swabbing services to junior, intermediate and senior oil and gas exploration and production companies.
