Canadian Superior Energy Inc. Kicks-Off Wellsite Survey for 'Intrepid' Well in Trinidad

CALGARY, ALBERTA AND PORT OF SPAIN, TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 26, 2005) - Canadian Superior Energy Inc. (TSX:SNG) (AMEX:SNG) ("Canadian Superior") of Calgary, Alberta, announced today that it has awarded its "Intrepid" Block 5(c) Wellsite Geohazard Survey Work to Capital Signal Company Limited, of Trinidad & Tobago. This survey work is planned to commence in November 2005, subject to Government approvals, on Canadian Superior's "Intrepid" Block 5(c), located approximately 96 kilometres (60 miles) off the East Coast of Trinidad.

The geophysical survey vessel, the M/V Native Spirit, will be mobilized to the area and will commence the survey work on potential drilling locations. The survey work in "Intrepid" Block 5(c) includes a detailed bathymetric survey of the area, identification of any geophysical hazards that may affect drilling operations, mapping of seafloor features and any hazards, determination of geological composition and identification of any man-made hazards, identification of any possible shallow gas areas, photography of the seabed and environmental sampling (benthic, water quality, air quality, sediment quality) and analysis.
