Canadian Thermos Products Inc. Sponsors Courage Polar Bear Dip for World Vision

The 24th Running of Canada's Largest Charitable Polar Bear Dip welcomes sponsorship from Thermos®

OAKVILLE, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 23, 2008) - The 24th Annual Courage Brothers' Polar Bear Dip welcomes, for the second year in a row, Canadian Thermos Products Inc.'s sponsorship.

The Courage Brothers' Polar Bear Dip is Canada's largest charitable polar bear dip and an annual January 1st tradition - rain, shine, sleet or snow. The purpose is to fundraise in support of fresh water projects in developing countries around the world, providing solutions such as water wells, pumps, and filtrations systems to provide daily amounts of fresh water to improve quality of life. The overall essence of this event is 'water for water' - through collecting pledges, participants who take the 'plunge' help provide fresh water to communities in need.

"For the past 24 years on New Year's day over 500 adventurous people, of all ages and walks of life, some costumed like a North Pole igloo, ice-fishing hut, or just about whatever you can imagine, plunge into the icy waters of Lake Ontario at Oakville's Coronation Park making the day like no other," says Todd Courage. "But what's most exciting about this event is its purpose-providing fresh water for those who don't have any, and with sponsors like Thermos(R), it makes all this possible."

For over 100 years, Thermos(R) brand insulated products have been keeping food and beverages hotter, cooler and fresher. Today this commitment continues with an expanding range of innovative, fashionable products that preserve flavour and freshness.

"Thermos(R) products are all about hotter, cooler, fresher thinking, and you can't get much cooler than a dip in icy-cold Lake Ontario," says Greg Aubert of Canadian Thermos Products Inc. "Thermos(R)' decision to sponsor this event was easy - they demonstrate fresher thinking, as funds raised by this event sponsor projects that use innovative ideas and technology that provide fresh water for those who don't have any."
