Canadian Wildlife Federation Inaugural Goose Gala a Smashing Success

OTTAWA, ON--(Marketwired - April 10, 2015) - The 1st ever Canadian Wildlife Federation Goose Gala was a sold out success on April 9 at the prestigious Four Seasons Hotel, Toronto. The celebration and fundraiser recognized the ongoing efforts of the Canadian Wildlife Federation to conserve the precious natural resources that define Canada.

With the thanks of our corporate sponsors and supporters including Rogers, Labatts, Collins Barrow and Adventure Canada the event raised over $250,000 for five critical pillars of CWF's programming, including habitat protection, education, water conservation and endangered species research and recovery.

Hosted by TSN Broadcaster Brian Williams and Canadian comedian and creator of the internationally acclaimed TV comedy series Corner Gas, Brent Butt, guests also enjoyed an exclusive, intimate appearance from multi-platinum, Juno and CCMA award winner, singer, songwriter and entertainer Johnny Reid.

"I am overwhelmed by the tremendous contributions of our Gala committee who pulled out all the stops to make this event a resounding success," says Wade Luzny, CWF CEO and Executive Vice-President. "Top notch Canadian talents Brent Butt and Johnny Reid wowed the crowd and spoke passionately about their love of our incredible wildlife and natural spaces. I am truly humbled by all of their dedication and support."

Hosted by the Canadian Wildlife Foundation, the fundraising arm of the Canadian Wildlife Federation, Foundation chair Dr. Bernie Gosevitz says, "This evening wasn't just about raising money, it was about inspiring people to connect and care with Canada's amazing wild species and spaces. This is the first of many events to raise funds and awareness about the incredible work being undertaken by the Canadian Wildlife Federation."
