Canadian Mortgage Trends Wins CMP Canadian Mortgage Award

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 3, 2008) - has won the 2008 MGIC Canada Award for Best Internet Presence.

Canadian Mortgage Trends is Canada's first online mortgage news daily, having launched in October 2006. The site, along with it's sister site, was started by Melanie and Robert McLister, mortgage planners at Mortgage Architects.

Canadian Mortgage Professional magazine awards this recognition to "brokers who have harnessed (the Internet) to provide consumers with practical, effective, and easily accessible facilities to help streamline the mortgage process."

"That Canadian Mortgage Trends has received this honour validates everything we try to do. We try to be consumer advocates first and foremost, so it's rewarding to have the site recognized for helping Canadian homeowners," says Co-Editor Melanie McLister.

Robert McLister notes that "CMT has been a labour of love that's evolved into a business in and of itself. Our goal for 2008 is to add further tools and features to help Canadians pick the very best mortgage, and not just the most convenient one."

The CMP Canadian Mortgage Awards Gala, in its second year, was held on February 29th at the Liberty Grand in Toronto. It honoured the industry's best across 15 categories. Award recipients were subject to a very thorough nomination, research and judging process spearheaded by some of the most accomplished executives in Canadian business today. Qualification as a finalist, in itself, represented a considerable honour.
