Canadians Across the Country Will Kick Off the Giving Season on December 1st by Participating in Giving Tuesday

A Donation to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation Goes Twice as Far With Matching Gift Program

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - November 24, 2015) - As Black Friday and Cyber Monday come to a close, Canadians from coast to coast will open the holiday giving season on Giving Tuesday by supporting their charity of choice.

With so many great causes to choose from, it's important for Canadians to give to a cause they feel passionate about. The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation (CBCF), Canada's largest charitable funder of breast cancer research, is committed to ensuring donor dollars go as far as possible. That's why they've created their Holiday of Hope campaign, where Iron Mountain Canada will be matching donations made to CBCF in the month of December.

The matched donations to the Holiday of Hope campaign will help CBCF fund important research such as:

Donors to CBCF drive real change by funding innovative research, health education and advocacy programs. These investments have played a significant role in decreasing breast cancer mortality by 44% since its peak in the mid 1980s and increasing survival rates to 88%.

"I'm proof-positive that breast cancer research is making a difference. Last year I was diagnosed with the same type of breast cancer that took my mom's life. Thanks to the advancements made since then, I was monitored closely, my breast cancer was detected early, and I am a survivor. Thank you to all the donors for your support of CBCF." - Mary Wall, breast cancer survivor.

Canadians can visit CBCF.org/Holiday to make their holiday donation and have it matched by Iron Mountain Canada. For further information on CBCF's recent research investments, please visit our 2015 Community Report.
