Canadians choose Oakville, Ontario sisters in Shreddies "Search for Goodness"

Nationwide search celebrates pair of community heroes

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - March 3, 2014) - The votes have been tallied and Canada's choice in this year's Shreddies "Search for Goodness" are Oakville residents Julia and Emma Mogus. Through their selfless commitment to their community and the communities of Northern Ontario, they demonstrate the genuine goodness Shreddies seeks to recognize.

"Shreddies believes this country is full of genuinely good people, and we know there are many who strive to make a difference in their community," said Melissa Marchesano, Product Manager for Shreddies. "Julia and Emma are a team who deserve to be recognized for their dedication to better the lives of others, and we are thrilled that Canadians chose them in the Shreddies "Search for Goodness"."

The teen sisters make it their mission to collect and distribute books for remote "fly-in" communities in Northern Ontario. They have a love for reading and want to share this love through their book donations. To date, their charity Books With No Bounds has collected and distributed more than 27,000 books. Their dedication to the cause has had a very positive impact on residents of all ages within these communities. Through initiatives like their book drives, the sisters engage their own community and inspire its members to come together to help improve the lives of others.

The nationwide "Search for Goodness" began in September, with an open call for nominations for people who go above and beyond to make a difference in their communities. After much deliberation, Shreddies selected and announced five finalists in December. Canadians were then asked to vote on the story they believe should be shared across the country.

To recognize Julia and Emma for their genuinely good contributions, Shreddies is featuring them in a national television spot that is currently airing and can also be seen online at www.facebook.com/Shreddies. Fans can see how the sisters impact their community and the communities of Northern Ontario.
