Candidates Announced for Reagan Foundation Centennial GOP Presidential Primary Debate

SIMI VALLEY, CA--(Marketwire - Aug 25, 2011) - The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation, in conjunction with its debate partners NBC News and POLITICO, announced today that the following eight presidential candidates have qualified and will participate in the Reagan Centennial GOP Presidential Primary Candidates Debate on September 7, 2011 (in alpha order by last name):

  • Herman Cain
  • Newt Gingrich
  • Jon Huntsman, Jr.
  • Ron Paul
  • Rick Perry
  • Mitt Romney
  • Rick Santorum

The Reagan Centennial Debate, the first GOP debate post-Labor Day, will be nationally broadcast live from the Reagan Library's Air Force One Pavilion on MSNBC beginning at 8:00 p.m. EDT. The debate will also air on CNBC, as well as in Spanish on Telemundo, and will stream live on and The debate will be moderated by Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News and John F. Harris, Editor in Chief of POLITICO. A portion of the evening's Q&A session will be led by Jose Diaz-Balart, the anchor of "Noticiero Telemundo."

The Ronald Reagan Presidential Foundation plans to host a second GOP debate in Spring of 2012. The media partners for the second, pre-Super Tuesday debate will be announced in the coming months.
