CannaFest, Canada's Hottest Classic Rock Festival Announces 2016 Lineup

CannaFest 2016 to Be Held Aug 5 and 6, 2016 in Grand Forks, BC

VANCOUVER, BC--(Marketwired - November 09, 2015) - On the heels of their inaugural event's huge success, CannaFest is proud to present an even bigger and better lineup for 2016. With the generous support of major sponsors BC Pain Society, Mega Travel Ltd., and Crop King Seeds, CannaFest 2016 promises to be Western Canada's greatest celebration of Canadian Classic Rock yet, combined with eye-opening education on the healing properties of marijuana.

CannaFest 2015 was, in part, so notable due to achieving the rare feat of being a successful independent festival in its very first year. Answering to the demand following the organizers' 2014 indoor concert, the sold out event took place on August 7th and 8th at James Donaldson Park in Grand Forks, BC. With a lineup consisting of Canadian rock legends including Prism, Headpins, Streetheart, Lee Aaron, Jerry Doucette and Harlequin who replaced an ill Lou Gramm the voice of Foreigner, the two-day festival provided over 3,500 ecstatic fans with the classic rock experience of a lifetime. At the same time, festival goers were able to gain knowledge about medicinal marijuana and the healing effects legal and responsible use can have through free literature and presentations by Western Canada's leading proponents and dispensaries.

For 2016, CannaFest will return to Grand Forks and has upped the ante with an even more impressive lineup. Local favorites Mad Dog and other openers will kick off the proceedings on Friday, August 5th -- a night that will feature platinum-selling bands Toronto, Chilliwack and international superstar Sass Jordan. On Saturday, August 6th, local favorites Vision will pave the way for the All-Star lineup of Doug and The Slugs, Helix, Headpins and festival headliners Honeymoon Suite. Assisting in the creation of this stellar lineup are CannaFest 2016's sponsors. Renowned medical marijuana dispensary BC Pain Society has backed the festival from the very beginning and continues in its role of both main sponsor and educator. They are joined by Crop King Seeds, one of the world's finest legal distributors of cannabis seeds featuring the best strains from around the world and Gold Bay Better Paydirt, Bigger Gold Nuggets, Best prices since 1999. Mega Travel Ltd. will be facilitating all the festival's travel concerns. Single Day, Weekend, Kids and VIP/Backstage passes will be available, with discounted Early Bird tickets on sale now. In the space of less than two years, CannaFest is solidifying its position as one of Canada's best Classic Rock and Roll festivals with a strong focus on legendary Canadian acts. At the same time the organizers and other proponents of medical marijuana continue to educate the public on safe, responsible use and the medicinal and healing properties of the plant. Main sponsor BC Pain Society made international headlines in 2014 by announcing Canada's first marijuana vending machine, and with four locations throughout BC and plans to franchise across the country continues to push for better understanding of this important medical treatment. While CannaFest is tireless in its mission, it also adheres to all federal laws and does not condone any recreational drug use at the event.
