NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 17, 2016) - B&H Photo would like to share Canon's announcement of the EOS 80D DSLR, EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM Lens, the DM-E1 Directional Microphone, and a PZ-E1 Power Zoom Adapter for their EOS DSLR lineup along with the PowerShot G7 X Mark II and PowerShot SX720 HS digital cameras.

Filling the mid-range DSLR role in Canon's lineup, the 80D sees a variety of upgrades, including a high-resolution 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 image processor. It also has improved AF during stills, with the 45-point all-cross-type AF system. Movie shooting has also seen enhancements with Full HD 1080p capture at up to 60 fps, and a faster Dual Pixel CMOS AF system for live view. Image quality has numerous improvements, namely a boost in low-light sensitivity to ISO 16000 natively, which can be expanded to ISO 25600, as well as better color and exposure consistency, using a 7560-pixel RGB+IR metering sensor with Color Tracking. The camera features a 3.0" vari-angle touchscreen LCD for easy viewing and operation in nearly all situations. Additionally, it is equipped with Wi-Fi with NFC, HDR Movie, Time-Lapse Movie, and Creative Filter options, as well as a shutter rated for 100,000 actuations. The Canon 80D will be available as a body only, in a kit with an 18-55mm lens or bundled with the new EF-S 18-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM lens.
