Canon Releases Rebel T6i and T6s DSLR Cameras, Updates the PowerShot Line, More Info: B&H

Photography News: Canon Unveils the EOS Rebel T6i and T6s DSLRs, and the PowerShot SX410 IS and ELPH 350 HS Digital Cameras

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - February 05, 2015) - B&H Photo would like to share the announcement of four Canon cameras: the Rebel T6i and T6s, and the PowerShot ELPH 350 HS and SX410 IS.

The Canon EOS Rebel T6i and T6s both build on the success of the T5i, with the main distinguishing factors of the T6s being its top LCD panel, a quick control dial, a horizontal level, and built-in HDR movie. The new Rebels both feature a 24.2MP APS-C CMOS sensor and DIGIC 6 Image Processor to provide quality imagery and speed. Built-in Wi-Fi allows you to transfer and share your stills and videos, while NFC lets you pair the camera to compatible Android devices or the Canon Connect Station CS100.

Full HD Movie mode captures MP4 videos and the new Hybrid CMOS AF III provides fast and accurate focusing for videos or photos when using Live View. Also new in the T6s and T6i is an EOS scene analysis system that detects near-infrared light and flickering light sources. Up from nine in the the T5i, these cameras feature 19 cross-type AF points for improved focusing. For composing and reviewing images, as well as menu navigation, the cameras feature a 3" vari-angle ClearView II touchscreen LCD monitor. The T6i is available as a kit with either the 18-135mm IS STM lens or the 18-55mm IS STM lens, and the T6s is available as a kit with the 18-55mm IS STM lens.

Canon is releasing two updates to the PowerShot line, the SX410 IS and the ELPH 350 HS. The SX410 IS improves upon its predecessor, the SX400 IS, by increasing the megapixel count from 16 to 20MP, and increasing the zoom from 30x to 40x. The lens provides a 35mm equivalent focal-length range of 24-960mm and has an Optical Image Stabilizer and Intelligent IS built in. The camera features a DIGIC 4+ Image Processor, Smart AUTO, and ECO Mode. It is available in Black or Red.

The ELPH 350 HS also sees an improvement from a 16MP to 20.2MP High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor. However, it keeps the same 25-300mm 12x optical zoom lens as its predecessor. It also has the DIGIC4+ Image Processor, a 3" 461k-Dot LCD screen, and Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity. The camera is available in Black or Silver.
