Cantronic Goes Airborne

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - April 6, 2006) - Cantronic Systems Inc., (TSX VENTURE:CTS) is pleased to announce that it has recently been named as the successful bidder on a government tender from the Province of Saskatchewan to supply a "forward-looking infrared camera" to the Ministry of the Environment, Northern Air Operations. This camera is intended to mount on an aircraft, either fixed wing or helicopter, and will be used primarily for search and rescue and surveillance operations in the northern part of Saskatchewan. This is a new product for Cantronic and one that has much market potential.

"This contract win is significant for us," stated James Zahn, President & CEO of Cantronic Systems, "as it represents the first time we have supplied equipment to be used within an aviation environment. Infrared and thermal imaging generally require a controlled environment for the camera installation and obviously, a flying mount will cause many changes in temperature, weather, wind and general mount stability. We were given the mandate and delivered this specifically designed product within a two week timeframe. We adapted our current proven technology to this task, and after internal testing, have determined that we are able to fill this requirement. The use of infrared imaging in an uncontrolled environment has been a challenging task for our industry. We believe that we have met this challenge and exceeded the needs of our customer. There is a growing trend among the airborne rescue services worldwide for this type of solution and we now have a product in place to satisfy this demand."
