Cantronic Long Distance Illuminator Earns U.S. Patent; Award Reinforces Cantronic Systems' Leadership in Long-Range Night Vision Technology

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - July 19, 2005) - Cantronic Systems Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CTS), manufacturer of infrared thermal imaging and active infrared CCTV night vision systems announced today that it has been awarded U.S. patent 6,902,299 for its long-distance active night vision illuminator. The inventors credited with the invention of the illuminator technology include James Zahn, president and CEO of Cantronic Systems.

"We are constantly pushing the boundaries of technology to develop and offer technologies that exceed the demanding requirements of today's covert security applications," said James Zahn, president and CEO of Cantronic Systems. "Granting of this patent reinforces our position as a leading innovator and bolsters our dedication to continue researching and inventing technologies that will keep us ahead of the curve and provide security professionals with the necessary capabilities to run effective security operations."

Cantronic Systems' long-distance illuminators are designed with a special LED array that offers the farthest viewing distance and longest life, more than 10,000 hours, of any infrared illuminator currently available on the market.

The rugged illuminators are weatherproof, lightweight, and feature low power consumption. Combined with an infrared sensitive CCTV camera, the illuminators produce a night-time or covert surveillance system ideal for military and law enforcement, airports, government facilities, border and harbor patrols, railways, nuclear facilities, and other facilities that require high levels of security.

In addition to the U.S. patent 6,902,299, patents for the long-distance active infrared illuminators are pending in Europe and Canada.
