Cantronic Systems Inc.: QWIPTECH Delivered a Large Format QWIP Camera to a Significant Customer

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 13, 2008) - Cantronic Systems Inc. ("Cantronic") (TSX VENTURE:CTS) is pleased to announce that its QWIPTECH subsidiary has sold and recently delivered a large format (640 x 480 array) cooled QWIP detector based thermal imaging camera to an undisclosed military customer for installation in an air transport for deployment on an overseas mission. The camera, with a retail value at $200,000, was delivered to the armed forces of an ally of the Canadian Government. We are unable to disclose the identity of the department and country of our customer at this time due to security concerns.

The major advantage of our large format QWIP infrared detector is its high resolution imagery which is perfectly suited for both military and homeland security applications.

"This marks our first QWIP based large format complete camera sale incorporating our own patented and proprietary large format detector technology, as compared to traditional sale of detectors only to defense customers. This further supports our vision to be able to provide solutions or complete cameras built around our own detector technology to significantly increase our value in each sale," commented James Zahn, president/CEO of Cantronic. Cantronic expects similar projects to follow as higher resolution thermal imagery quickly becoming the trends for high end mission critical applications and QWIPTECH has been in a position to produce these large format (640 x 480 array) infrared detectors in volume and to be able to supply a higher array size mega-pixel (1024 x 1024 array) infrared detectors and camera systems.
