CanWel Building Materials Income Fund Announces Final Court Approval of Plan of Arrangement for Proposed Conversion to a Corporation

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Jan. 22, 2010) -


CanWel Building Materials Income Fund (the "Fund") (TSX:CWX.UN) is pleased to announce today that the Supreme Court of British Columbia has granted its final order approving the plan of arrangement under the Business Corporations Act (British Columbia) for the proposed conversion of the Fund into CanWel Holdings Corporation, a corporate entity.

The conversion remains subject to certain conditions and other approvals. Management anticipates that the conversion and the acquisition of Broadleaf Logistics Company will be completed on or about February 1, 2010.

The shares of New CanWel have been conditionally approved for trading on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol "CWX".
