SAN ANTONIO, TX--(Marketwired - Dec 19, 2013) - Capaciti Networks, a wholly owned subsidiary of Competitive Companies, Inc. (OTCQB: CCOP) (OTCBB: CCOP), today announced its affiliation with global Wi-Fi networks iPass and Boingo as a "roaming partner."
"This is a very significant and strategic move for Capaciti's networks because between iPass and Boingo, they serve more than two million hotspots around the globe," said William H. Gray, President/CEO of Capaciti Networks. "Our affiliation with Pronto, iPass and Boingo places Capaciti in syndication with some of the largest network operators throughout the world including carriers." He also said, "We're proud to have our high performance networks affiliated with such broad-based organizations."
This association allows customers of iPass and Boingo to now access Capaciti's premier, high-speed Wi-Fi networks through Capaciti's billing connection with Pronto Networks. Pronto Networks provides carrier-class Operations Support Systems (OSS) enabling network operators such as Capaciti to deploy and manage large public WLAN networks.
Columbus, Ohio is the first of many locations throughout the U.S. where Capaciti will utilize the iPass and Boingo Wi-Fi connection with its record breaking broadband speeds of more than 100 Mbps to a smart phone and over 200 Mbps to a laptop.
Capaciti Networks' Wi-Fi coverage in Columbus includes hourly, daily and monthly plans and a variety of speeds -- starting at download speeds of 10 Mbps -- which users can find using several identifiers displayed on a phone or laptop such as "Capaciti Networks," "Columbus Hotspot" and "Columbus Capaciti."
"Columbus was one of the first markets for Capaciti to launch its revolutionary 'Bid for Better Broadband' program, which allows businesses to name their own price and enjoy flexible high-speed broadband plans that are either ready-made or tailor-fit custom to a business' needs," said Dave Dwyer, Business Development Manager. "This market has been ideal for launching next-gen projects and we look forward to opening major new markets in the first quarter of 2014."
"Bid for Better Broadband" is available through the company's newly re-launched site at www.capacitinetworks.com.
