Cape Breton artist Pius MacIsaac releases "The Greatest Gift" CD

MABOU, NOVA SCOTIA--(CCNMatthews - July 15, 2005) - Cape Breton musician Pius MacIsaac will release his second recording July 24 , 4pm at the Bankhead Pub in Inverness, Nova Scotia and at a second celebration at West Mabou Hall Sunday, August 21 8-10pm. The title of the recording "The Greatest Gift" is a reference to the gift of friendships and faith that have sustained the Mabou artist through a life full of challenges and adversity. Following his first release, an instrumental album featuring many original compositions, the new recording highlights Pius' talent as a singer/songwriter. Proving wrong a school music teacher who told him he would never be able to learn an instrument, Pius has gone on to become a respected and cherished member of the Cape Breton music community and often accompanies some of the island's top fiddlers with his guitar. He has accepted performance opportunities as far west as Alberta and as far east as St. John's Newfoundland and enjoys a steadily increasing fan base of celtic music enthusiasts.
