Capilano Mall Celebrates 11 Years of May Is Art Month with Spring Campaign

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 8, 2014) - This May Capilano Mall (935 Marine Drive, North Vancouver, BC) is celebrating 11 years of their annual May is Art Month celebration. Local art, music and dance are the focus and campaign elements include a pop-up art gallery featuring local artists, art scholarships, an arts supplies donation program and an in-house production of CATS the musical.

May is Art Month kicked off May 1st and will continue through May 31^st 2014. The campaign is a collaboration between Capilano Mall, North Vancouver Community Arts Council, Artists for Kids and URP Event Production and Creative Services.

As part of May is Art Month Capilano Mall is offering two full tuition scholarships to attend the Paradise Valley Summer School of Visual Arts to young art students who live on the North Shore. New this year, the Capilano Mall art supply donation program will provide new and used art supplies and materials to budding artists throughout the North Vancouver community. Shera Allibhai, Marketing Director for Capilano Mall is particularly fond of the community element and art supply donation program component of May is Art Month stating "I love that Capilano Mall is able to help developing artists and nurture those artistic talents," adding "this is more than just your typical mall campaign. The ever-popular theatrical component of May is Art Month is back again this year. Capilano Mall will play host to a "pop up" theatre May 29^th-June 1^st 2014 and feature the musical production of the famous Broadway musical CATS produced by URP Event Production and Creative Services. The production will be performed by some of the best young talent the North Shore has to offer from Capilano University's Musical Theatre Program. Admission is $15 or $10 for students.
