Capita Total Document Solutions Transfers Securely to MOVEit DMZ

Capita Total Document Solutions Expands Digital Mailroom Services, With a Million Documents a Month Transferred via Secure Ipswitch File Transfer Technology

LEXINGTON, MA--(Marketwire - May 25, 2011) - Ipswitch File Transfer, a leader in high-performance integration and managed file transfer solutions, today announced that Capita Total Document Solutions, leaders in document management services, has adopted its MOVEit DMZ secure, managed file transfer solution. MOVEit DMZ has enabled Capita Total Document Solutions to expand its digital mailroom services to handle a million scanned documents a month securely, with peak loads of 150,000 transfers per day.

Capita Total Document Solutions scans and transfers significant volumes of data every day via a network of state of the art scanning bureaus and highly secure, government-accredited storage facilities, strategically placed throughout the UK. Capita Total Document Solutions' data transfer had to embody robust business continuity measures and to work across a variety of legacy scanning systems and document imaging suppliers, some of which are local to individual machines. Scanning is done locally at Capita Total Document Solutions sites and sent to secure local server locations. Data is then transferred to electronic mailrooms or clients.

"We are trusted by banks, local and central government, and small and large commercial organizations with some of the most sensitive paper and digital material in the country," explained Capita Total Document Solutions operations manager, Anthony Lamb. "We're capturing and transmitting images, data and information as often as every ten minutes. Our data transfer not only had to be secure and encrypted, but we also wanted a robust platform which was resilient, regardless of interruptions to connections or extreme peak data volumes."

Capita Total Document Solutions' clients in business and government require absolute transparency with internal processes and security levels. Different clients demand that Capita Total Document Solutions adhere to various standards, including the UK government's Code of Connection (CoCo) and the Payment Cards Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). Crucially, MOVEit DMZ, which boasts FIPS-validated SHA-based encryption and out-of-the-box PCI DSS compliance, makes adherence to security standards significantly easier, asserted Lamb.

"We've made a significant saving through being able to automate processes that were previously performed manually," continued Lamb. "However, the focus of this project was to continue to maintain the highest levels of security when transferring data. For the first time, MOVEit DMZ enables us to work to all our clients' security requirements from the same platform, ensuring complete consistency."
