Capital Insight Partners' Tad Gage Teams With PrecisionIR to Present Webinar on Communicating Financial Metrics in Challenging Times

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwire - February 23, 2009) - Capital Insight Partners announced Executive Vice President Tad Gage recently presented a webinar on public company reporting of Key Performance Indicators, a critical component of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's expanded guidelines on corporate communication and financial transparency. The presentation was developed in conjunction with PrecisionIR, a leading provider of targeted investor relations communications products and services.

Titled "The Hard Impact of Soft Metrics," the webinar is part of PrecisionIR's investor relations educational series. It addresses specific qualitative and quantitative metrics public companies can discuss to enhance their investor communications. A replay of Gage's webinar is available at:

"In its 2008 report to the SEC, the commission's Advisory Committee on Improvements to Financial Reporting, comprised of leading financial authorities, emphasized the importance of more thorough and detailed corporate discussion of financial and non-financial measurements that drive revenue, income and cash flow," explained Gage. "As a long-time proponent of enhanced financial communications to give investors a clearer understanding of how public companies generate cash and deploy capital, I was pleased to see the committee's recommendations.

"With the markets' devaluation of most companies' stock, and in an era of investor wariness, mistrust and disappointment, it has never been more important for the management of public companies to be transparent in their communications with the investment community. By discussing key drivers of financial performance, including many companies have not traditionally included in their SEC filings or financial news releases, conference calls and investor presentations, they can more effectively demonstrate their plan to build shareholder value."

Gage noted the SEC advisory committee concluded key performance indicators enable investors to make informed decisions about future cash flows, which it calls "the basis for a company's stock price." The committee concluded "investment professionals concur that investors are very interested in non-financial information as a way to better understand the businesses in which they invest."

The advisory committee's report to the SEC is available on the SEC's website at

Gage concluded: "Management teams provide benchmarks that help investors understand their growth strategies, competitive advantages, internal performance measurements, plans to generate increasing cash flow and wisely invest cash will have a decided advantage. At a point when the economy shows signs of recovery, the companies that are the easiest for investors to understand and analyze stand the best chance to maximize their attractiveness as an investment."

A business and financial communications professional with 30 years of consulting and corporate management experience, Gage has worked with over 100 publicly held corporations to analyze their businesses and improve their financial reporting and messaging.
