Chief US Economist at Barclays Capital Delivers US Economic Outlook
Dean Maki, Managing Director, Chief US Economist at Barclays Capital, will provide an outlook for the US economy focusing on the risks of today's easy policies. Overall, Dr. Maki believes economic growth will be solid in 2011, driven by consumer and business spending; however medium-term inflation risks, associated with easy monetary policy, are a concern.
Mr. Maki was named the most accurate forecaster of US GDP in 2009 by Bloomberg News, and the most accurate forecaster of CPI and PPI inflation by Bloomberg News for 2008-2010. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from Stanford University and a BA in economics from St. Olaf College.
Forum Description
Capital Link's 10th Annual Closed-End Funds & Global ETFs Forum will include presentations by global fund managers, analysts and experts from the industry, in addition to a series of industry roundtables with in-depth discussions.
The Forum is a well-known annual industry event for institutional investors, registered investment advisors, financial planners, private bankers, securities analysts, retail and institutional financial advisors, industry specialists and analysts, in addition to financial press and media. Annual Closed-End Funds & ETFs Awards
The Annual Closed End Funds & ETFs Awards are an initiative of Capital Link and take place within the context of the Forum. The awards aim to identify and recognize annually those fund sponsors and executives who consistently apply high standards of financial disclosure, investor and shareholder relations and innovation. Furthermore, award recipients also include firms and analysts for their research coverage of the CEF and ETF sectors. The awards are based on nominations by a committee of CEF and ETF analysts, fund sponsors and market experts. Capital Link is not part of the nominating committee and award recipients are traditionally published in Barron's.
Forum Structure
The Forum will feature presentations on specific topics as well as roundtable discussions.
There will be presentations on the following industry topics, the current state of the closed-end fund and exchange traded fund industry, fixed income investing, equity and total return investing, risk mitigation strategies, portfolio management and leverage.
