Cap'n Crunch Transforms Beach Into Ultimate Obstacle Course for Adventurous Fans

"Crunch Bowl" Lets Fans Battle for a Trip to Puerto Vallarta

CHICAGO, IL--(Marketwired - October 22, 2015) - This week, Cap'n Crunch transformed a Chicago beach into an epic cereal-themed obstacle course complete with pirate fights, shark riding and a treasure-chest dig. While only the Cap'n's crew can sail the S.S. Guppy, Cap'n Crunch wanted to give Crunch fans a taste of his thrilling world beyond breakfast and a chance to embark on their own quest.

The Crunch Bowl invited 10 lucky cereal fans to feed their adventurous spirit while competing for a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and a year's supply of Cap'n Crunch. The spectacle was witnessed by a crowd of local Chicagoans.

"I've never seen such a hunger to win! These adventure-seekers were willing to go to great lengths to prove their passion for Cap'n Crunch," said Adam Pally, the host and official referee of The Crunch Bowl.

"The Crunch Bowl contestants were brilliant and cunning! My first mate Sea Dog may be in trouble if any of them are looking for a full time job," said Cap'n Horatio Magellan Crunch.

Adam Pally and Cap'n Crunch himself playfully test-drove some of the obstacles before competitors took on the challenge.

Contestants in The Crunch Bowl traversed a series of six challenging obstacles, including a giant waterslide descent into a giant milk-inspired pool, scaling a rock wall to retrieve an oversized spoon, and using the spoon to uncover buried treasure chests filled with cereal.
