Caposaldo Hits the Sweet, Sparkling and Sensational Spot With Its Introduction of Three Sparkling Wines and Striking New Brand Packaging

PURCHASE, NY--(Marketwire - Sep 4, 2012) - Award-winning Italian wine producer Caposaldo unveils sophisticated packaging design with its introduction of three new sparkling wines; Sweet Moscato (srp $15.99), Sweet Pink Merlot Moscato (srp $15.99) and Sweet Red Sparkling (srp $15.99). The design is a repeating pattern of a double horse head silkscreened on a blue bottle for Sweet Moscato and clear bottles for Sweet Pink Moscato and Sweet Red Sparkling.

Bottled in cobalt blue glass, Sweet Moscato is made from 100% Moscato Bianco, with intense pear, peach and spice aromas and flavors. Delicate coral pink, Sweet Pink Merlot Moscato blends Merlot (55%) with Moscato Bianco (45%). Lightly sweet, this wine has intense berry, rose petal and herb aromas and flavors. Crimson Sweet Red Sparkling blends black Malvasia Nera (55%) with Merlot (45%) and is lightly sweet and intensely floral with flavors of red berries. Made in the traditional method, Caposaldo Sweet Sparkling wines are a versatile and flavorful start and end to a meal: beginning with antipasti such as salami and prosciutto, and finishing with berry desserts such as tarts and pies.

"Enormous category growth fueled the brand's decision to expand Sparkling and Moscato offerings and enhance packaging to appeal to an ever widening audience," commented Caposaldo Brand Director Isabelle Catino. According to Nielsen's, Moscato is the number one white wine in the United States by growth, it accounted for more than 3.6 percent of the wine sold in the U.S. at retail last year and has increased by 73 percent in category sales and volume from 2010. "Moscato is wine's hottest category," confirmed Catino, adding, "One of the fastest brands growing within this category, Caposaldo's high quality wines, innovative offerings and sophisticated design keep hitting the sweet spot."
