Cardiff by the Sea Chiropractor Develops Triad Treatment Method

CARDIFF BY THE SEA, CA--(Marketwire - Oct 4, 2011) - Dr. David Melendez, of Gold Coast Chiropractic in Cardiff by the Sea, has developed a three-step system for predictable posture and spinal correction, which he calls the "Triad." This Triad of care incorporates decompression, rehabilitation and chiropractic care to provide lasting relief for patients experiencing pain from bulging and herniated disc, sciatica, degenerative disc, radiating pain and numbness in arms and legs, stenosis and pain related to auto accidents or personal injury.

A primary use of the TRIAD method is to provide relief for pain suffered in an Encinitas and Cardiff by the Sea personal injury or auto accident. In the first step of care a Spinal Rejuvenation Table (SRT) is used to decompress the spine and disc relieving pressure on pinched nerves commonly causing a patient's neck and back pain. Use of decompressing SRT and adjustments allows the chiropractor to apply a constant traction force along with whole body vibration and oxygen therapy, reducing muscle spasm and increasing healing, to the discs in the spinal column, thereby reducing pressure and alleviating pain. Dr. Melendez said this practice has proven to be safe and highly effective for those who suffer from a personal injury or chronic pain from herniated, bulging and degenerative disk problems, preferring it to the risks of invasive surgery or possible side effects of prescription medication.

Once the initial pain has been alleviated in this manner, the rehabilitation phase may involve body weighting or whole body vibration. Vibration therapy and oxygen therapy are part of the treatment plan and work as a restorative system that is tailored specifically to each patient to support their spine and protect them from further pain through the damaging effects of gravity. Treatments from the doctor are then combined with postural rehabilitation and treatments from a certified massage therapist to continue helping the body heal naturally from within.

Dr. David Melendez became a chiropractor when the discipline helped him overcome his own chronic health and spinal problems. Commenting on the Triad system he said, "It's been an honor and a blessing that I have been able to combine some of the most effective elements of spinal correction and relief into this system. But, it's also personally satisfying for me to be able to provide such an effective form of non-invasive relief for patients who suffer from chronic pain, headache, bulging, herniated and degenerative disk and sciatica."

His wife, Dr. Lorraine Melendez, followed the footsteps of her father, also a chiropractor, who entered the profession after having his own positive experiences. She added, "I'm happy to be participating in the Triad system at our practice with my husband. Many patients have come to us experiencing intense pain from sciatica or some type of accident or injury, and we have been able to use this approach to help them return to a happy and healthy state of well-being."

Drs. Melendez opened the practice in honor of Lorraine's father and state that they have been "reaching, teaching and touching lives since 1990."
