Cardiff Marketing Services Learn That Richard Branson Will Serve as an Air Hostess on a Flight to Kuala Lumpur in July!!

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - May 6, 2011) - Aviation history will be made on 4 July 2011, as AirAsia charters a special charity flight for 250 guests from London Stansted to Kuala Lumpur with Sir Richard Branson onboard. Cardiff Marketing Services heard AirAsia announce that Sir Richard Branson will be serving as a flight attendant on a charity flight between London and Kuala Lumpur on July 4th after losing a wager with Tony Fernandes. Sir Richard Branson will strut down the aisle, offering coffee, tea, food and other beverages to 250 guests on board the 13-hour Kuala Lumpur-bound flight.

The wager was made at the beginning of the 2010 Formula One season. Both Branson and Fernandes own Formula One racing teams, Virgin and Lotus, respectively, and it was agreed that the owner of the team that finished lower in the standings at the end of the season would serve as a flight attendant on the winner's airline, a bet Cardiff Marketing Services found very interesting and were sure would provide us with great entertainment.

When AirAsia Group CEO and Team Lotus co-principal Tony Fernandes agreed to the friendly wager with Virgin Group & Marussia Virgin Racing's Sir Richard Branson on the sidelines of the 2010 Bahrain Formula One GP, little did they expect the twists, turns and obstacles they would have to go through to complete the wager. Nine months and 19 races later, at the spectacular Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, Tony Fernandes' Team Lotus came out tops, leaving Richard to look forward to donning the red AirAsia female flight attendant uniform and joining the AirAsia crew for a day.

Cardiff Marketing Services have been told that a total of 160 tickets onboard this special flight would be made available for sale on Flight tickets for this once in a lifetime experience are available at £4,500, while flights and accommodation packages start at £5,200 for a single accommodation and £5,000 for twin sharing. It will not be the first time Branson has dressed in drag to promote his airline. In February 2009 he donned a Wonder Woman costume to promote Virgin America's new air service between Boston and San Francisco. All tickets and packages are available on with all proceeds going to beneficiaries to be determined by Dato' Sri Dr. Tony Fernandes & Sir Richard Branson.
