SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - August 21, 2007) -, the Internet's largest community for auto enthusiasts, today announced the launch of CarDomain Videos, a new section on the popular car community site where auto enthusiasts can upload, post, and share auto-related videos with the CarDomain community. Since launching a beta of the service in early August, more than 1,000 auto-related videos have been uploaded to the CarDomain site and organized into a broad variety of categories, including "Racing," "Unusual & Over the Top," and "Install & How-To's." "Our continuing mission at CarDomain is to provide our growing community of automotive enthusiasts with the most effective communication tools they need to fully express themselves and connect with others who share their particular interests," Rajan Krishnamurty, President and Chief Operating Officer of "From the casual car fanatic who loves to watch a Chevy truck jump a sand dune to the hard core tuner seeking expert video assistance on a challenging custom job, video represents a powerful medium that will push our member's creative boundaries in entirely new directions."

Unlike traditional video sharing sites like YouTube that cater to the general population, CarDomain Video is produced by car enthusiasts, for car enthusiasts. To help members find the most unique clips, CarDomain has appointed specialized video guides (including Morgan Alsop, winner of SpikeTV's Bullrun reality series) who will sift through thousands of videos to identify and promote the most interesting clips to the rest of the community. In addition, CarDomain Video will encourage its members who have specialized skills to produce short instructional videos to help others in the community take control of their own projects.

User-generated content represents a burgeoning market, one that advertisers and major corporate brands are just now beginning to tap. A new report from eMarketer projects that video ad sales will grow from an estimated $775 million this year to $4.3 billion in 2011. With the automotive category representing one of the most popular topics among user-generated content, CarDomain will be well positioned to help advertisers use video to reach and engage their target audience.
