Carle Clinic in Urbana, Ill. Implements InteGreat's EHR System With 2,900 Employee Users

SCOTTSDALE, AZ. -- (MARKET WIRE) -- July 20, 2006 -- InteGreat , a leading provider of electronic health record (EHR) systems for physician group practices, announced today that Urbana, Ill.-based Carle Clinic Association has implemented its EHR among its 2,900 employees (physicians, clinical staff and support staff). The implementation, which took less than three years, incorporates all locations including 10 regional clinics. The EHR encompasses 10 years of lab data, eight years of radiology images, and eight years of dictated notes. In the future, patients will be able to access their own personal medical records.

To maximize efficiency, savings and convenience, clinicians at Carle Clinic Association use electronic tablets in patient care rooms. Physicians at Carle now have immediate access to patient medical information from any department or remote location. "We've learned that in the event of a disaster, an EHR is not subject to damage and can be immediately accessed from any location, allowing us to continue serving our patients," said Michael Sutter, Carle Clinic director of clinical systems IT.

The conversion to EHRs has allowed the closing of two medical record locations where paper records were previously stored, generating significant savings.

According to Sutter, "The education staff, in conjunction with the EHR support team, taught each clinician how to use the system, training one department per week over a period of 16 weeks, to be certain that everyone understood how to use the EHR most efficiently within their medical practice."

"Carle Clinic is among a growing number of group practices that recognize the inherent value of automating and securely accessing patient records across multiple locations," explains David Koeller, InteGreat's president and CEO. "We are delighted we were able to help them adopt a total electronic solution to reduce their operational and administrative expenses, but more importantly, to enhance patient care."
