Carrier Access Announces the Appointment of Four Key Executives

BOULDER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- April 10, 2007 -- Carrier Access Corporation (NASDAQ: CACS), a leading provider of wireless and converged access solutions, today announced that: David Ratner, senior vice president, wireless solutions; Michael Mayfield, vice president, customer support and operations; Kevin Wagner, vice president, business and partner development; and Tim Silvera, senior vice president, human capital have recently joined the company.

David Ratner brings extensive engineering, product management and leadership experience to our wireless solutions business unit. Mr. Ratner will be focused on revenue and margin growth and innovation for Carrier Access wireless products and solutions.

Prior to joining Carrier Access, Mr. Ratner was a pioneer of messaging at and Openwave, where he was vice president of the messaging business unit. David holds an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA, a B.A. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Mathematics from Cornell University, and has numerous patents and publications.

Mike Mayfield is a results-oriented executive with over 20 years of achievements, spanning all facets of the business value chain. Mr. Mayfield will be focused on improving operational efficiencies, jumpstarting our professional services and software maintenance programs, and transforming customer support into a profitable annuity business.

Prior to joining Carrier Access, Mike held key management positions at Openwave, DEC, Oracle and StorageTek. He holds an M.A. in Management from Webster University, and a B.S. in Business Administration from Regis College.

Kevin Wagner's area of expertise centers on ecosystem strategy and development of strategic partnerships for growth. Mr. Wagner brings a wealth of industry leadership experience, having served on numerous industry boards. He will be responsible for maintaining and strengthening the company's OEM relationships, as well as identifying and building relationships with new OEM and strategic partners to grow profitable revenue.

Prior to joining Carrier Access, Kevin held leadership positions with Openwave, Motorola and Cadence Design Systems. Mr. Wagner holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Kansas and received his MBA from University of Dallas, Graduate School of Management.

Tim Silvera will lead the development of innovative people strategies, talent acquisition, selection, rewards and performance optimization systems that engage employees to achieve results and shape Carrier Access' culture.

Prior to joining Carrier Access, Tim was the SVP of Human Capital Solutions at TeleTech Holdings, Inc. Mr. Silvera holds a B.S. in Human Resources and Finance, as well as numerous professional designations.
