Cartier Confirms Extension of North Gold Zone With 7.3 g/t Au Over 1.0 Metres

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 30, 2008) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") confirms the extension of the North Gold Zone west and along the strike of the discovery in holes KI-08-22 and 23 (refer to May 6th, 2008 press release). Hole KI-08-29 intersected a higher grade section of 7.27 g/t Au over 1.0 metre within a broader zone that returned 0.68 g/t Au over 19.0 metres (from 141.0 m to 160.0 m).

The gold bearing zone has been extended over 250 metres to the west with holes KI-08-28 and KI-08-29. Both holes have intersected the unit that hosts the mineralization (albite altered dyke, quartz veins and pyrite) over true widths of 59.6 and 105.7 metres. They confirm the gold bearing potential of the northern contact of the Destor-Porcupine Fault and highlight an area of higher grade gold within the system.

Hole KI-08-28 (100 metres east of holes KI-08-22 and 23) cut an albite altered dyke strewn with quartz veins and minor pyrite over 59.6 metres (from 185.9 m to 245.5 m). The intersection is anomalous throughout with values up to 0.47 g/t Au with a high of 1.9 g/t Au over 1.0 metre. The results for the hole are partial.

Hole KI-08-29 (250 metres east of holes KI-08-22 and 23) cut two altered dykes over 105.7 metres (from 128.2 m to 195.0 m and from 207.9 m to 246.8 m). The presence of a higher grade intersection (7.27 g/t Au over 1.0 metre) demonstrates that the mineralized system hosts zones of economic potential and motivates the company to pursue drilling in the MacCormack area. The results for the hole are partial.

Drilling was conducted over 600 metres on the eastern extension of the Northern Gold Zone with holes KI-08-30, 31 and 32. The latter have shown the presence of the host dyke altered and mineralized at the northern contact of the shear zone. All results are pending.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

The Kinojevis exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Philippe Berthelot, P. Geo., qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d'Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories.
