Cartier Focuses Drilling on MacCormack Gold Prospect

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - March 10, 2008) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR) ("Cartier") is pleased to announce that drilling is now focusing on the MacCormack gold prospect as a result of the completion of its Phase I program on the Kinojevis property.

The initial holes of Phase II will test the lateral and depth extensions of the MacCormack mineralization. In 2007, this historic gold occurrence was extensively prospected and trenched, leading to discoveries of new gold and significant silver mineralization. One drill hole (KI-07-03, refer to December 11, 2007 press release) was completed last fall to test the southern portion of the outcrop area. The best results from this one hole (confirmed with new re-assaying) are 1.05 g Au/t over 4.6 m including 1.95 g Au/t over 1.5 m, and, 1.57 g Au/t over 1.9 m. The best results from trenching returned 150 g Ag/t (4.7 opt Ag). Ten drill holes are planned on and in the immediate vicinity of the MacCormack.

Phase I drilling has demonstrated that the Destor-Porcupine fault strikes through the entire length (48 kilometers) of the Kinojevis property. Significant carbonate-sericite alteration with quartz (tourmaline)-pyrite veins and gold intersections is associated to the fault zone and with secondary structures. The program consisted of 21 drill holes (7,504 meters), in eight widely spaced (5 to 8 kilometers) north-to-south sections, in order to discover gold by testing the extension of the Destor-Porcupine fault and characterize the various geological criteria to aid in vectoring towards new discoveries. A map showing Phase I drill holes is available on the company's website. Assays from four drill sections, consisting of ten holes, are still pending.

Phase II drilling will consist of an additional 8,000 meters of drilling which will be directed at both new and historic gold mineralization as well as at a new set of targets generated through geochemistry, geophysics and structural data derived from 2007 work.

Cartier plans to drill for discovery approximately 40 holes throughout 2008. It has a strong cash position to meet its 2008 and 2009 exploration programs.

Quality Assurance/Quality Control

The Kinojevis exploration program is conducted under the supervision of Mr. Philippe Berthelot, P. Geo., Qualified Person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Cartier has implemented and adheres to a strict Quality Assurance/Quality Control program which includes mineralized standards and blanks for each batch of samples. Assay samples are taken from drill core sawed in half with one half sent to a commercial laboratory and the other half retained for future reference. Analyses are either performed by Techni-lab S.G.B. Abitibi inc. in Sainte-Germaine, Quebec, or by ALS-Chemex in Val-d'Or, Quebec, both accredited laboratories.

The TSX Venture Exchange does not accept responsibility for the adequacy or accuracy of this press release.
