Cartier Resources Inc.: Update on its Exploration Program

VAL-D'OR, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - June 12, 2007) - Cartier Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:ECR)("Cartier") is pleased to announce that its first year aggressive exploration program is underway. The $1M program, to be primarily spent on Cartier's Kinojevis property, consists of prospecting, mapping, trenching, geophysical surveying and drilling.

The Kinojevis property straddles the eastern extension of the Destor-Porcupine fault over a strike length of 48 km. This fault extends for 350 km from Timmins in Ontario to the Grenville geological province which is located to the north east of Val-d'Or, Quebec. The western segment of the fault (from Timmins, Ontario to Destor, Quebec) has historic gold production exceeding 70 million ounces of gold. Cartier intends to invest $1M per year in exploration on the Kinojevis property over a three year period with the majority of the budget dedicated to drilling.

A 2,600 km heliborne magnetometer and gamma ray spectrometer survey has recently been completed over the Kinojevis property. The survey design was optimized in order to aid Cartier's geophysicist and geologists to highlight favorable structures and define drill targets on the property. Results are pending.

Cartier currently has three geologists and a prospector in the field. Their work consists of property scale prospecting and detailed sampling of historic gold occurrences. Trenching and drill targets will be defined for follow-up in late summer.

Cartier's web site is now functional and will be updated periodically.
