DANBURY, CT--(Marketwired - Oct 28, 2013) - Cartus Corporation, a leading provider of global relocation services, recently hosted its 13th annual Global Network Conference to celebrate service excellence among its supply chain partners. Cartus awarded Armstrong International of Canada and TGA Inc. (Tokyo General Agency) of Tokyo, Japan, with the Masters Cup for overall excellence -- the highest honors within its Global Network.
This year's conference, themed "Here We Grow Again," was held in Dallas, Texas, on Oct. 21 and 22. More than 400 members of the Cartus Global Network, representing 200 companies from nearly 50 countries, attended the event recognizing the extraordinary achievements of network members in serving Cartus' clients and customers worldwide.
For the second consecutive year, Armstrong International of Canada was named the top supplier in the category of household goods shippers. TGA Inc. (Tokyo General Agency) of Japan was named the top supplier in the category of home services.
Also honored at the ceremony were those suppliers who have consistently delivered exceptional service to Cartus' customers, as well as those who invested in innovations that improved service. In addition, award winners were named at the platinum, gold, and silver levels in the categories of "Commitment to Excellence" and "Innovation."
"Our conference theme, 'Here We Grow Again,' celebrates staying globally connected, locally inspired, and ready for opportunity as the worldwide economy continues to improve," said Cartus President and CEO Kevin J. Kelleher. "The annual Global Network Conference brings us together and offers a forum for all of us to learn from one another and continue to raise the bar on performance levels. It also celebrates the power of our suppliers' association with Cartus and underscores the importance of our responsibilities to our clients and customers around the world, who depend on the expertise of our supply chain partners every day."
Last year, Cartus inaugurated a Global Citizenship Award, to be given annually to a supplier for its commitment to making an impact on the health, welfare, and safety of others, and/or for improving a community's quality of life on a national or international basis. The 2013 winner named this year is Jared Goodwin of Nuss Relocations of New South Wales, Australia. Cartus also made a contribution to the company's designated charity.
In addition to attending the formal awards dinner, participants in the two-day educational seminar heard keynote addresses from Kelleher; Pat DeDonato, Cartus vice president of real estate services and supply chain management; and guest speaker Alexandra Valentin, corporate director of culture transformation for The Ritz-Carlton Leadership Center, a corporate university that provides business leaders with opportunities to benchmark best practices in human resources, leadership, quality, and training. Cartus executives who also addressed the gathering, in addition to DeDonato, included Don Briggs, Jim Edwards, and Richard Tucker.
At the General Session, Kelleher provided a company update and highlights of recent achievements. He described Cartus as well-positioned for growth as the global economy continues to gain strength and also discussed the vital role the company's valued supply chain will play in achieving short- and long-term growth.
During the day, attendees were invited to participate in rotating workshops presented by Mike Song, CEO of Get Control! and one of the world's leading productivity and communication experts, and members of the Cartus leadership team. To close the event, all attendees were invited to relax with new and old acquaintances in a celebratory atmosphere at world-famous music venue Gilley's.
