Casa Systems to Release Integrated CCAP Product at NCTA

DS8x96 Module Installed in the C10G Adds Full CCAP Capability and Increases Channel Density to New Levels

ANDOVER, MA--(Marketwire - May 21, 2012) - Casa Systems, a worldwide leader in next generation cable edge technology, today announced the launch of a new downstream module that adds Full Converged Cable Access Platform (CCAP) functionality to its carrier class C10G Cable Modem Termination System (CMTS) platform. This new module enables MSOs to deploy DOCSIS, IPTV and MPEG video on a single chassis from day one and greatly increases channel density over existing CMTS modules on the market.

The DS8x96 module delivers an industry leading 96 channels per port including 32 channels of narrowcast and 64 channels of broadcast for a total of 768 channels per module. With the possibility of eleven primary DS8x96 modules and one protection module in a C10G, a combination of over 8000 narrowcast and broadcast channels can be supported in the downstream direction within the C10G.

Casa Systems is demonstrating Integrated-CCAP functionality, including the delivery of MPEG video, IPTV, and DOCSIS over a single port on its DS8x96 module at NCTA, The Cable Show, May 21-23 in Boston. In addition Casa will show its full range of DOCSIS 3.0 CMTSs in its booth, #1523.

"With the announcement of the DS8X96 module, Casa Systems continues to prove to be an innovator in the CMTS market," said Jeff Heynen, Directing Analyst, Broadband Access and Video for Infonetics Research. "The new module positions Casa as one of the leaders in the upcoming competition for lucrative CCAP contracts worldwide."

"Casa Systems was the first company to release a Full DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS to the market and we are doing it again as the first company to release a Full CCAP system. Casa's CCAP approach is dramatically different from the rest of the industry. With our first CCAP release we have created an integrated, Full CCAP system that delivers DOCSIS, IPTV and MPEG video and it is available today. Our current C10G customers can seamlessly migrate to CCAP by adding the DS8x96 module without changing any other hardware on the platform. This protects their initial investment in Casa Systems and provides additional capex and opex savings," said Jerry Guo, Founder and CEO of Casa Systems. "Our feature rich CCAP release includes key features such as; hardware redundancy; software resiliency; IPDR data collection; XML configuration; and advanced routing features such as IS-IS, OSPF, BGP for IPv6, and MPLS. It is a sophisticated product that is simple to operate."

Casa Systems' innovative approach enables cable operators to cost effectively and seamlessly migrate Casa's flagship C10G to CCAP functionality, offering highly scalable broadband services such as IPTV, MPEG video, interactive gaming, as well as traditional broadband access and VoIP services. As the industry's only vendor with full DOCSIS 3.0 and PacketCable 1.5 qualification, Casa Systems products deliver reliability, scalability, performance, and operational simplicity.
