Cascada Mobile: Konami Adds Viral Marketing Component to Frogger

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 24, 2006) -

Enabled by Cascada's TAG Technology

Cascada Mobile, a provider of technology for peer-to-peer mobile content distribution, today announced that Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. has chosen Cascada's TAG™ service to add referral distribution capabilities to the company's signature game, Frogger.

"With storefront becoming more cluttered, TAG gives wireless publishers the ability to increase revenues with viral distribution," said Tony Davis, CEO of Cascada Mobile. "By leveraging the substantial numbers of people who purchase Frogger, revenues can be increased through sales to consumers through referrals, possibly to those who have never downloaded a mobile game."

Konami's Mobile content group distributes such popular titles as Frogger, Silent Scope, Castlevania and Gotta Go Golf.

"It is increasingly difficult to get customers to find your games on cluttered carrier decks. We see viral distribution as a powerful tool to increase awareness and sales," said Joe Morris, Vice President, Mobile Content at Konami. "Cascada's TAG technology will help us reach a wider audience who might not find Frogger for themselves."

The Cascada TAG version of Frogger will initially be available to Cingular Wireless subscribers, extending to other carriers over time.

Cascada Mobile's TAG service works by enabling consumers to easily refer mobile phone applications, such as games, to friends and family. Cascada Mobile's TAG service uses advanced business logic to get the appropriate application version onto the recipient's phone in only a few clicks. Unlike other services relying on SMS or WAP pages, TAG is embedded directly in the application, enabling developers to incorporate it seamlessly. TAG uses existing carrier and publisher infrastructure, and open standards to ensure accurate payment and wide consumer use.
