Cascadia Announces Additional NORTON Nickel-Copper-Cobalt-PGE Results

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(CCNMatthews - Aug. 23, 2005) - Cascadia International Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:CJ) -

- Assays of 1.96% Ni, 3.09%Cu, 1.55 lbs/tonne Co, and 1.24 g/tonne PGE in NL05-19

- Drilling cuts new gabbro pyroxenite body 1.4 km east of the deposit

- Drill hole survey helps trace zone

- Ground grid expanded to cover gabbro-pyroxenite body

Cascadia International Resources Inc. ("Cascadia") (TSX VENTURE:CJ) is pleased to announce that drilling of the main Norton Zone has been completed on the west margin of the deposit. Holes NL05-19, 20, 21, 22 defined the west margin and continued into a thicker section of the deposit up plunge from deeper successful holes (NL04-12, NL05-17, and NL05-18).

A much more understood outline of the deposit has emerged as a result of this phase of drilling to guide deeper holes.

Hole 27 on line 15E (1.4 km) east of the Norton deposit was drilled to test an IP anomaly and magnetic feature. A pyroxenite was cut by the hole that may be an extension of the Norton deposit host. This is the second new pyroxenite to be found by this summer's program. The first flanks the south side of the iron formation 300 m north of the deposit (hole NL05-25) and may extend 5 km to the east where a similar gabbro-pyroxenite occurs on the south side of the large iron formation.

A ground geophysical grid is being cut with a follow up magnetic and VLF EM surveys to help trace the pyroxenite along the iron formation contact. Two attempts (NL05-23 and 24) to drill a deeper hole were lost due to broken ground in a fault and one hole (NL05-26) was drilled too far west to hit the down plunge. Now that the setting is better understood, deeper holes are planned to trace the down plunge of the thicker portion of lense II.

Mise-a-la-masse down-hole surveys are being carried out at this time to test the continuity of the intersections and to follow the new sulphide zone that occurs in the basalts. The shape and plunge and extents of the deposit will be better understood using this geophysical method.

The drill core zones have been transported to Thunder Bay for splitting in a secure facility and then submitted to ALS Chemex Labs. Assaying for metals is being done with Aqua Regia acid digestion and ICP analysis at Chemex in Vancouver. PGE assaying is being done by fire assay extraction and ICP finish to obtain Pt, Pd and Au values.

The project is being supervised by R. Middleton, P. Eng. who is the qualified person and responsible for quality control of the assaying and reporting.
