Cascadia Capital's Christian Schiller Named to Puget Sound Business Journal "40 Under 40" List

Managing Director Honored for Contributions to Business Community and Commitment to Ending Homelessness

SEATTLE, WA--(Marketwire - Jul 25, 2011) - Cascadia Capital (, a diversified, boutique investment bank focused on serving both private and public growth companies in the Pacific Northwest, today announced that Christian Schiller, Managing Director of the firm's Middle Market practice, has been named a 2011 Puget Sound Business Journal "40 Under 40" award recipient. The prestigious "40 Under 40" awards program recognizes the top business leaders under the age of 40 who demonstrate dynamic leadership, excellence in their industry, and commitment to their community. Schiller was chosen for both his business and civic accomplishments, which include his success in building and growing Cascadia's Middle Markets practice, and his commitment to ending homelessness in the Seattle community.

"The 40 Under 40 award recognizes both professional accomplishments and civic commitment, and it is a tremendous privilege to be named to this elite list of business and community leaders," said Christian Schiller. "I have always abided by the Rotary Club motto 'If not us, then who?' It reminds me to 'do' as opposed to 'say,' as that's how we can make the biggest impact in our communities and workplaces."

Christian is a Managing Director at Cascadia and leads the firm's Middle Market practice focused on sourcing and executing buyside and sellside M&A, equity and debt private placement, and strategic advisory transactions with private and public companies in the middle market. As a member of the board of the Austin Family Business Program at Oregon State University, he is an active participant and leader in the family business segment across the Pacific Northwest, working proactively with family business leaders to facilitate various strategic initiatives. Christian has also made significant contributions to the Seattle Community. Before moving to Seattle in 2004, Christian and his wife started the One-On-One foundation, a formal 501(c)(3) charity funded 100% by his family to pay security deposits and first month's rent to help transition homeless from shelters into permanent housing. They are now actively involved with the Wellspring Foundation in Seattle, which helps homeless families find and afford safe housing as well as address the core issues to prevent homelessness.

"Since joining the firm in 2004, Christian has been a tremendous asset to our business, his clients, and the Seattle community," said Michael Butler, CEO of Cascadia Capital. "Christian's unique business insights and talent for building strong relationships have made him an influential leader not only in the business world, but a driving force behind community initiatives to end homelessness. Christian is an accomplished individual and this award is richly deserved."

"This marks the 13th year the Puget Sound Business Journal has spotlighted the area's top business leaders under the age of 40 who excel in their industries," said Gordon Prouty, publisher of the Business Journal. "The region's business community is globally renowned for its innovation and creativity, and based on the accomplishments of this year's prestigious 40 under 40 roster that reputation will continue for years to come."

The 2011 honorees will be profiled in the September 9, 2011 special publication, and will receive their awards at the 40 Under 40 celebration being held September 14, 2011 at the Showbox Sodo, 1700 1st Avenue South, Seattle, WA 98134. For more information please visit:
