Case Study Presentation at AASHE Conference to Show Value of Data Automation in Meeting Campus Sustainability Goals

LoadMan On-Board Scales and University of California, Santa Cruz, to Discuss Waste Data Automation Solution Deployed at UCSC Campus at Conference

RENTON, WA--(Marketwired - Oct 15, 2015) -  Bradley E. Angell, Ph.D., from the University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC) and Alan Housley, vice president of marketing at LoadMan On-Board Scales and Certified Product Manager will co-present the data automation case study at the Association for the Advancement of Sustainability in Higher Education (AASHE) held in Minneapolis later this month.

In spite of its growing importance, diverting recovered resources continues to pose fundamental problems for campus managers. In response to this problem, the UCSC staffs have redefined the billing process and diversion metrics by using a weight-based model for study, communication and budgeting. All enabled with the adoption of the Loadman On-Board Scales. Introduced in 2012, UCSC operators now manage with the automated metrics system that integrates database software, GPS technology and real-time load software to weigh refuse and recycle materials as they are collected by haulers.

For this case study, UCSC's Angell will present the on-campus weight-based system and processes, while Housley will focus on established weight diversion best practices and technologies to automate and maximize diversion for zero waste sustainability objectives.

The presentation is open to attendees of AASHE and is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at 8:30 a.m., room 1010F, at the Minneapolis Convention Center.
