PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - September 02, 2015) - Cask, the pioneer empowering developers to build Big Data applications on Hadoop, announced today that they have certified their Cask Data Application Platform (CDAP) to support MapR, one of the leading distributions of Apache Hadoop™.
CDAP is an open source, integrated platform for developers and organizations to build, deploy and manage data applications using Hadoop. As a critical component of the recent CDAP 3.1 release, Cask now supports production users on MapR 5.0. With this announcement, CDAP now supports all three major Hadoop distributions, thereby providing enterprises and developers with a standardized platform for development of Big Data applications backed by a broad set of choices for production deployment. This represents a strong first step in MapR and Cask's partnership.
"Cask's CDAP will help our joint customers quickly develop and deploy reliable data-driven applications across the enterprise on Hadoop," said Steve Wooledge, vice president, product marketing at MapR Technologies. "We are pleased that Cask had certified the CDAP platform on MapR 5.0, which uniquely supports real-time operational and analytical workloads in a single cluster."
"MapR customers are some of the most sophisticated production users of Hadoop. With CDAP certified on MapR, customers can now build and deploy more data applications using existing developer skillsets across the enterprise," said Jonathan Gray, CEO of Cask. "We look forward to working closely with the MapR team over time to create a strong, mutually-beneficial partnership."
