Cassidian Communications to Showcase Next Generation Solutions for Public Safety Communications at NENA 2013 Conference & Expo

TEMECULA, CA--(Marketwired - Jun 14, 2013) -  Cassidian Communications, an EADS North America company, will exhibit at the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) 2013 Conference & Expo in Charlotte, N.C. on June 15-20. Demonstrations of its complete suite of public safety communications solutions will take place in booth #302.

Cassidian Communications will demonstrate the next generation VESTA®/Sentinel® 4 NG9-1-1 call taking system, which includes support for roles-based login and multi-agency, multi-site operations. Other innovative tools provide complete and secure emergency communications from start to finish. Additional product demonstrations include the latest release of the Aurora® MIS solution, as well as the ORION Vela® comprehensive mapping solution.

Cassidian Communications will also demonstrate the company's LTE solutions, plus its support for Smart911™ from Rave Mobile Safety, a leader in providing additional data to 9-1-1. Also demonstrated will be The Communicator!® NXT and GeoCast® Web emergency notification solutions.

The value of these integrated solutions is embodied in the popular "call-to-car" demonstration, which showcases Cassidian Communications' NG9-1-1 call taking solutions interworking with its LTE devices and applications to deliver integrated voice, data and video communications from the initial 9-1-1 call to the response in the field.

"NENA is our opportunity to show the many ways in which our teams are continually working to enable public safety providers to do their indispensable jobs better, faster and more efficiently," said Bob Freinberg, CEO of Cassidian Communications. "Because of the countless, long-lasting relationships we have with the attendees of NENA conferences, the annual event has become a reunion of sorts for us."

In addition to booth demonstrations, members of the Cassidian Communications team will conduct three educational sessions. All sessions are in room 203A on Wednesday, June 19.

  • At 10:45 a.m., Lisa Henderson, product area business manager, will present "The Next Generation Public Safety Communications Ecosystem." The session will review the next generation ecosystem, its components, and how it completely overhauls the business model of the PSAP through true interoperability, situational awareness and a common operating picture.

  • At 1:15 p.m., Jeff Gillan, product area business manager, will present "Next Generation 9-1-1: Do Not Forget the Importance of the User eXperience." The session will focus on managing the emergency call taker's experience to make the best out of the barrage of new data that comes to call centers through NG9-1-1 systems.

  • At 2:45 p.m., Lisa Henderson will present "Advanced Hosted PSAP Solutions." This session will explore how NG9-1-1 will change the current model of PSAPs, leading to new opportunities and challenges.

"We're proud to have the opportunity to share our expertise and educate attendees to open new avenues and provide answers to the tough questions they face," said Freinberg.
