Cassidy Gold Intersects 15.29 g/t Au Over 11m From Sanu Filanan Extension, Kouroussa Gold Project, Guinea

KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - March 15, 2007) - Cassidy Gold Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CDY) is pleased to announce results from reverse circulation (RC) drilling on its 100%-owned Kouroussa Gold Project, located in Guinea, West Africa. Step-out drilling at the Sanu Filanan Extension (formerly the NW Plateau) included 21 RC holes totalling 2392 metres. Results have been received for the first 12 holes. They confirm a continuous zone of mineralization 500 metres northwest of and on strike with the Sanu Filanan Deposit. Highlights include 15.29 g/t Au over 11.0 metres and 2.07 g/t Au over 23.0 metres in KRC1146, 10.56 g/t Au over 7.0 metres in KRC1147, 1.40 g/t Au over 22.0 metres in KRC1151, 1.83 g/t Au over 23.0 metres in KRC1153, and 2.90 g/t Au over 18.0 metres in KRC1154. True widths are undetermined at present.

The 12 holes reported herein are arranged on four fences across the interpreted northwest trend of mineralization, over 200 metres of strike length. Mineralization is located close to surface, hosted in weathered gabbro adjacent to a major contact with fine-grained Birimian sedimentary rocks. Results from the northernmost section (KRC1148-KRC1150) suggest that the mineralization is swinging back to the north and remains open in that direction. KRC1148 intersected 1.97 g/t Au over 8.0 metres at the northeast limit of drilling. The 9 unreported holes step out to the southeast and on a parallel zone 200 metres west.

Eighty metres to the southeast of fence KRC1148-KRC1150, fence KRC1145-KRC1147 intersected a broad zone of mineralization highlighted by 2.07 g/t Au over 23.0 metres and 15.29 g/t Au over 11.0 metres in KRC1146. The latter interval represents the end of the hole. Fence KRC1151-KRC1153, an additional 80 metres southeast, intersected 2 broad intervals: 1.40 g/t Au over 22.0 metres in KRC1151 and 1.83 g/t Au over 23.0 metres in KRC1153. Forty metres further southeast, KRC1154 intersected a zone of 2.90 g/t Au over 18.0 metres.

The Sanu Filanan Extension was previously tested by 2 fences of RC holes in late 2006. Results, including 1.67 g/t Au over 14.0 metres in KRC1045 and 1.25 g/t Au over 10.0 metres in KRC1046, suggested that mineralization intersected in earlier regional aircore drilling may be related to the Sanu Filanan structure - see Cassidy Gold Corp News Release, January 11, 2007. Updated location maps will be posted on www.cassidygold.com shortly.

The Sanu Filanan deposit consists of near surface, potentially open-pittable, mainly oxide mineralization, outlined over a strike length of 900 metres. In September 2006, RSG Global Consulting estimated an indicated resource of 161,000 ounces of gold in 1,552,000 tonnes grading 3.2 g/t Au and an additional inferred resource of 205,000 ounces in 2,811,000 tonnes grading 2.3 g/t Au. An independent technical report describing the resource study is posted at www.sedar.com.

Exploration Program

Drilling will focus on the Sanu Filanan Extension, KD-1, JJ, and the Northern Plateau (KD-1 Extension?). Two drills, including a multipurpose rig (RC + core), will extend these known deposits along strike and to depth to delineate additional mineralization ahead of an anticipated resource update and scoping-scale studies to begin in July.

Sampling and Assay Procedures

RC drill samples were collected from the cyclone and split using a 1 in 8 riffle splitter down to approximately 2.5kg in size. All samples were sent to the SGS analytical laboratory in Siguiri, Guinea for further sample preparation and fire assay using a 50-gram sub sample. Along with SGS internal quality control procedures, external field duplicates, blanks and certified standards are undertaken over 5% of all sampling. Quality control/quality assurance is closely monitored by RSG Global personnel.

Personnel

Senior Geologist Brad Ackroyd of RSG Global Consulting heads the exploration team in Guinea. Christopher J. Wild, P.Eng, VP Exploration for Cassidy Gold Corp, is the Qualified Person for this release.
