Cast Iron Systems Doubles Sales of Integration Appliances Again in Q4 2006

Demand for Appliance-Based Integration Solutions Drives Growth and Market Leadership in the Exploding SaaS Market

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 20, 2006 -- Cast Iron Systems, the fastest growing integration appliance vendor, doubled sales for the second quarter in a row. This represents a five-fold increase in new customer growth over the same period in 2005. This tremendous expansion in sales reinforces the broad appeal of Cast Iron's appliance-based approach to integration and underscores the market demand for solutions that can rapidly integrate both on-premise and Software as a Service (SaaS) applications with ease.

"With the proliferation of SaaS applications, the need for a simple and fast alternative to custom code or traditional software-based solutions is stronger than ever. More and more companies are choosing integration appliances to solve their SaaS integration needs, as evidenced by the fact that more than 80% of our new customers are using our appliance to integrate SaaS applications," said Ram Gupta, president and CEO of Cast Iron Systems.

Cast Iron's integration appliances are being embraced across all industries ranging from manufacturing, retail and consumer goods, to travel, transportation, market research and logistics. New customers added this quarter include Alphatec Spine, Bemis Company, MarketTools, ShoreTel, and SolarWinds.

"We evaluated several options in search of a solution that could integrate our ERP system with Siebel Enterprise. Eventually we plan on integrating Siebel CRM On Demand with other applications," said Rick Parkinson, CIO at ShoreTel. "Cast Iron's integration appliance saves time and service costs, as well as allows us to limit the amount of IT resources dedicated to this project."

The Cast Iron Systems Integration Appliances enable companies to complete projects in days, instead of months, and easily maintain them using a "configuration, not coding" approach. The company's integration appliances synchronize information between all major applications and endpoints, including SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle,, Sybase, SQL Server, Informix, DB2, flat files (FTP/HTTP), XML and Web services.
