CastaVista Announces Launch of a Hosted Digital Signage Platform

CastaVista Hosted Digital Signage Platform Dramatically Lowers the Cost of Entry for Digital Signage for Point-of-Sale Locations and Office Environments

PORTLAND, OR -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 27, 2007 -- CastaVista, a company with roots in hosted services and set-top-box middleware development, today announced the launch of its first product offering, Hosted Digital Signage Platform. This new platform offers point-of-sale locations and offices, regardless of the size, an innovative way to deploy digital, high-definition heads-up signage.

CastaVista provides a user-friendly web-based interface for the customer to configure the sign, including pre-packaged news feeds, ready to use backgrounds, themes and stock photos. Customers can then mix and match the pre-packaged content with their own by simply entering text, uploading pictures or entering their location for services such as weather. A typical sign can be created in under 10 minutes without the need for a graphics designer.

"By marrying the internet with the heads-up LCD displays, CastaVista is able to bring internet content from different sources into the sign, manage the sign remotely and will in the future allow the venue owner to share in ad revenues if they choose the advertising-sponsored model," said Dan Itkis, CEO of CastaVista.

CastaVista digital signage allows the venue owner to provide their customers or employees with the information that's relevant, fresh, interesting and entertaining. The venue owner can choose to display advertising or not and mix and match their own promotions with those of their partners or other vendors.

The service cost ranges from free (in an advertising-supported model) to $19 per month per display. LCD displays of various sizes can be used and the service requires use of either Viewsonic or Cisco Media players. CastaVista Hosted Digital Signage service is currently compatible with Viewsonic NMP-530 and NMP-500, and Cisco 4300G media players. These devices have a small footprint, are robust and flexible, use little power and are designed to be operated remotely.
