Castillian Announces Drill Results for 35 Holes from the Near-Surface Las Aguilas West Nickel-Copper-Platinum-Palladium Deposit, Argentina

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Feb. 22, 2008) - Castillian Resources Corporation (TSX VENTURE:CT) announces results from 35 drill holes from the Las Aguilas West Deposit located 40 kilometres north of the city of San Luis in Argentina (Figure 1).

The nickel and copper mineralization is associated with magmatic sulphides, primarily pyrhotite, pentlandite and chalcopyrite. These sulphides contain significant amounts of cobalt, platinum, palladium and minor gold. Values of up to 5.66 g/t platinum have been intersected and values exceeding 0.5 g/t platinum + palladium were intersected over significant widths in almost every drill hole (Table 2). In fifteen holes from the West Deposit there are individual samples that exceed 1 g/t platinum (Table 4) which demonstrates the platinum-rich nature of the mineral deposit. There are relatively few nickel systems that are characterized by such enrichment of platinum and palladium. Both deposits remain open for further expansion and we are presently laying out plans for the next drill campaign. Deposits with similar nickel and copper grades such as the Agua Blanca Deposit in Spain are currently being mined profitably, hence the potential significance of these results."

The drill holes reported in this press release represent all of the drill holes completed prior to the year-end break on the Las Aguilas West deposit and will comprise the basis for completing an initial resource calculation. Drill hole intercepts are spaced approximately 25 meters apart except at the southern end of the deposit where step outs were extended to approximately 50 meters on the two southern-most sections (Figure 2 and 3 plan and long section).

The mineralization in the Las Aguilas West deposit is hosted by a pyroxenite to melanogabbro-norite dike which strikes in a north-northeast direction. (Figure 2). Olivine is rare in these lithologies and as such the contained nickel is expected to occur within the sulphide phase where it would be recoverable. The mineralized zone is a tabular body hosted within the dike and the drilling extends from surface to approximately 150 meters vertical depth and along a strike length of at least 375 meters. The mineralization is not closed off to the north or the south and also remains open at depth in the northern half of the deposit. Geophysical evidence in the form of a related EM conductor and prospecting suggest the mineralization associated with the Las Aguilas West Deposit could extend a further 300 meters to the south and 150 meters to the north, however further drilling will be required to verify this. The mineralized zone ranges from approximately 2 meters to 21.5 meters in true thickness and the averages of the intersections is approximately 10-12 meters in true thickness. In the northern third of the deposit two sub-parallel mineralized zones occur and each of these ranges from approximately 2.0 meters to 12 meters in true thickness with the thicker part of the zone to the south. The average Ni/Cu ratio is 0.9 and the Pd/Pt ratio is close to 1:1 but these ratios are variable.

Drilling will resume testing the extensions of the West and East deposits as well as a number of regional targets in early March. Previously released drill intercepts from the Project were from the Las Aguilas East Deposit which occurs 400 meters to the east. A total of 67 holes were completed on the two deposits in 2007 totalling 11,028 metres. Assays are pending for several remaining holes from the East deposit. Work to complete a preliminary resource estimate for the drilling to date has commenced, however a complete resource estimate will not be done until after the resource delineation is completed and the limits of the deposits have been established.

The project is an option joint venture with Marifil Mines Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:MFM) (see press release dated March 5, 2007).

Quality Control

The company employs a diligent QA/QC protocol on all aspects of the analytical procedures. Core samples are sawn and one half of the NQ core is restored to the core box for future reference and one half of the core is sent for analysis. Samples are taken in approx. 1.0 -metre intervals or less when in the mineralized zone, and at 1.5 metres or less when in disseminated sulphides (less than 2% sulphides). Sample preparation is completed at the ALS-Chemex lab preparation lab in Mendoza, Argentina and assayed at ALS-Chemex lab in Vancouver, Canada, using multi-acid digest/ ICP-AES for the base metals and reanalysis by A.A. when Ni values are over 0.3% . Platinum, palladium and gold values are determined by 30 gram fire assay with ICP-AES finish. A blank sample is inserted every 40th sample and standard samples representing a range of grades are inserted at intervals of 1 in 20 to 30 samples. Duplicate samples are taken in each drill hole.

The quality control and all aspects of the exploration program are supervised by Castillian exploration manager, Danielle Giovenazzo, Ph.D., PGeo, a qualified person as defined under National Instrument 43-101.
