Castillian Begins Drilling at Mangabal Project in Brazil

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Sept. 27, 2005) - CASTILLIAN RESOURCES CORP (TSX VENTURE:CT) and its partner Falconbridge Brasil are pleased to announce the commencement of a drilling program on the Mangabal nickel/copper project.

The program calls for 4500 meters of NQ diamond drilling on the first set of high priority targets identified during the phase one exploration program on the Mangabal North and South intrusives. The recently completed ground electromagnetic geophysical survey has identified anomalies in favorable host rocks where previous work encountered economic grade mineralization (6.3 meters of 1.56% Ni, .75% Cu). Based on the interpretation of geophysical, geological and geochemical data collected during the first phase exploration, the targets on the Mangabal South and the Mangabal North mafic intrusives are expected to be nickel/coppers sulphides at shallow depth. The initial drill program is anticipated to consist of 25 holes in the 150 to 200 meter range.

"The targets selected for this drilling campaign have a high probability of intersecting nickel/copper mineralization. The data collection and interpretation by the Falconbridge exploration team has identified these priority targets remarkably quickly and I am eagerly awaiting the results of the first phase drilling program" commented John Buckle, P.Geo. President and CEO of Castillian Resources.

Ongoing exploration with high-resolution ground and helicopter-borne geophysical detailing is defining additional targets in other mafic intrusive bodies within the JV's 1,300 sq. km. land holding covering the Mangabal mafic complex.

Castillian Resources Corp. is a Canadian mineral exploration company listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. The company is focused on acquiring, exploring and developing nickel-copper, polymetallic and base metal deposits in Latin America. Inventories of base metals are diminishing at historical rates with a prognosis for ever increasing consumption. Although the Brazilian shield has potential for mining-camp scale base metal deposits, this region has rarely seen the application of modern exploration technology. Also largely overlooked, is the potential for volcanogenic massive sulphide and polymetallic deposits in the Andean Cordillera. Recently restructured, Castillian Resources has targeted these potential resources, commencing with the high-profile Mangabal Joint Venture with Falconbridge Brasil Ltda.
