The November seminars feature experienced legal technology professionals who share insights and best practices to help corporate counsel and law firms more effectively and cost-efficiently manage complex or high volume legal matters, including big data e-discovery.

The complete list of November Catalyst events discussing TAR includes:

  • Nov. 14, 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. ET, Bass, Berry & Sims Offices, Nashville, "Is Technology-Assisted Review the Holy Grail of E-Discovery?": This free CLE luncheon seminar, co-hosted with DSi, will cover TAR techniques, the latest information about predictive coding and ways to streamline the e-discovery process. Speakers will explore new rules and practical tips to ensure that your search techniques are up to par. They will also discuss two recent cases in which TAR was successfully used to reduce costs.

  • Nov. 19, 12:30 p.m. - 2 p.m. PT, General Counsel WEST Conference, Four Seasons San Francisco, "Effective Use of Technology-Assisted Review": Panelists include Mark Noel, managing director of professional services at Catalyst, and the two co-founders of Equanimity, Michelle Younkin and Gabriel Neises. The panel will explore the benefits of TAR 2.0, as well as recent research on the effectiveness of TAR versus more traditional review methods such as manual review and keyword search. They will also address practical questions and considerations that arise when utilizing TAR in large cases, including: How does TAR actually work, and when should we use it? What are the emerging best practices for TAR? How do the goals for different document review tasks affect the choice of technologies and workflows? How much time and money can we realistically expect to save by using TAR?

  • Nov. 20, 8 a.m. PT, Chief Legal Officer Leadership Forum, San Francisco: Catalyst's Mark Noel will be speaking at this executive forum, which focuses on how leading general counsels are working to control risk and cost. Special sessions focus on corporate governance, government investigations and alternative fee structures. Mark will be discussing how corporations are using technology-assisted review, advanced analytics and custom workflows to handle complex and large-scale litigation.

These seminars build upon the release of Insight Predict, a Predictive Ranking(SM) tool, and the Predictive Ranking ROI Calculator, Catalyst's free, web-based calculator that gives corporations and their legal teams greater cost predictability by estimating how much time and money they will save using Predictive Ranking instead of linear review or first-generation predictive coding tools.
