Caterpillar Logistics Services LLC Appoints Jos Opdeweegh CEO

DOWNERS GROVE, IL--(Marketwire - Aug 13, 2012) - Caterpillar Logistics Services LLC, a provider of third-party logistics solutions to the automotive, industrial, mining, aerospace and defense industries, announced today the appointment of Jos Opdeweegh as CEO.

Platinum Equity, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, recently acquired a majority interest in Caterpillar Logistics Services from Caterpillar Inc. Caterpillar retained a 35 percent equity stake in the business. A rebranding initiative is underway, and a new corporate name and image will be announced at a later date.

Mr. Opdeweegh has extensive experience in logistics, M&A and capital markets including his most recent position as CEO at Americold Realty Trust, one of the world's largest owners and operators of temperature-controlled warehouses for frozen food logistics. Prior to that, he headed up syncreon, a specialized provider of inbound logistics, export packing, transportation and fulfillment services to large automotive and technology customers.
