Cathay Forest to Host Russian Government Delegation

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 17, 2008) - Cathay Forest Products Corp. (TSX VENTURE:CFZ), is pleased to announce that the Minister of Natural Resources and the Minister of Forestry of Khabarovsk, Russia has accepted Cathay's invitation to visit Toronto, Canada.

A special luncheon will be hosted by Queen's Park on July 3rd, 2008 to welcome Mr. Gennady Pocherevin, Minister of Natural Resources, Khabarovsk Region and Mr. Vasily Shikhaley, Minister of Forestry, Khabarovsk Region.

The ministers will be hosting a reception, along with Mr. Anthony Ng, CEO of Cathay Forest Products Corp., at the National Club of Toronto at 4pm on July 3rd to discuss Khabarovsk's natural resources, investment opportunities, and Cathay's future expansion in the region.
