Catherine Gibson Is the New Managing Partner of DLA Piper (Canada) LLP's Vancouver Office

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Feb. 1, 2016) - Rob Seidel, Q.C., Canada Managing Partner of DLA Piper (Canada) LLP, is pleased to announce that effective February 1, 2016, Catherine Gibson will become the Managing Partner of the Vancouver office.

Catherine joined the firm as an articling student in 1995, was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1996 and joined the partnership in 2004. Over the years, Catherine has shown unwavering dedication to the firm and her clients. Recognized as a leading lawyer, she has developed a successful corporate practice, with an emphasis on real estate.

Catherine is a strong leader with a proven track record in management. She is a member of the firm's Associates' Committee and a former member of the Executive Committee. In the community, she volunteers for various non-profit organizations such as the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs BC - acting on its Board of Directors from 2005 to 2010. She also provides legal services to the community based non-profit organizations YWCA and SUCCESS and, most recently, Catherine was a member of the Advisory Board of the Western Canada General Counsel Awards.
