Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario Endorses Increased Funding for Vice-Principals

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 15, 2007) - The Catholic Principals' Council of Ontario endorses the McGuinty government decision to grant an additional $41 million to increase vice-principals in Ontario schools. CPCO president Dan Tighe notes, "In recent years, the number of vice-principals has decreased due to financial pressures in school boards. The Premier's announcement acknowledges the important role that vice-principals play in student safety and learning, school operations, and leadership development. CPCO has made several submissions calling for an increase in vice-principals. We appreciate the government's action and its ongoing commitment to further improve the education funding formula in response to the feedback from its many partners."

CPCO provides professional support and leadership development for 2100 Catholic principals and vice-principals across Ontario.
